Scott + Brittney- Salem Wedding 1.17.09

The day was gorgeous- blue skies, golden sun, not a cloud in sight. For anyone living in Oregon, you know these days are scarce in January. 🙂 Perfect weather on a perfect day for the perfect couple who vowed their lives to each other.

Brittney and I are cousins, we grew up playing out on her grandma’s farm, riding quads and getting dirty.  When she and Scott got engaged we were thrilled for them.  After getting to know Scott better and watching the two of them together, we knew that they were meant for each other.  I honestly couldn’t have hand-picked a better match for Brittney and think of anyone else I would want to welcome into our family.  We are so happy for you two and cannot wait to hang out again!

We so enjoyed every minute of your wedding- it was amazing!  We hope you love your images!  We love you!!

Showit Sites- Site of the Year Contest

Wow… That’s about all I can muster after discovering that my website has been selected as a finalist in the Site of the Year Contest. Showit Sites is amazing, I’ve said it before and I will say it again and again and again… I just can’t say enough great things about their products and service! 🙂 Thank you a million times over!!

It feels so amazing to have my site listed as one of the finalists.  It’s so cool to look at the other sites and see their creativity and personality throughout their website.  Showit Sites gives us the tools and freedom to create what we envision without being restricted by templates.  I LOVE that!!

So, if you are a member of OpenSource Photo, please take the time to look at all of the sites and vote for your favorite 5.  All of us photographers thank you!!!  🙂

My Muse!

Sometimes you meet people who simply inspire you.  Inspire you to try, to improve, to just do.  Justine does this for me.  She is a great friend, my #1 cheerleader, my go-to person for different ideas I have about my business and above all, my muse.  🙂  Aside from being obviously gorgeous, she’s also willing try anything- especially when it comes to my photography visions.  Like I said, she is a GREAT friend!

This past Sunday Justine and I drove out to Harrisburg for a concept shoot with the ultra-fabulous, Kacy Jo!  I met Kacy this past summer and I just adore her.  She allowed us to play on her turf and although it was freezing cold, we had a great time and managed to produce some amazing shots!  Justine & Kacy- thank you for being awesome friends!  Enjoy!!

Reflection: 2008

Wow.  I cannot believe that a year has already gone by.  Where did it go?  Honestly…?  To say that this past year was busy would be a total understatement.  2008 was crazy- and I loved every minute of it!!  🙂  It has been a year of growth, discovery, purification and blessings.  I am so fortunate to have the support from family, friends and clients, to do what I love.

As chaotic as this past year has been, I am hoping, praying and planning on doubling my workload as I push forward with my new brand, equipment, style and ambition!  2008 was good to me, but I can’t wait to see what 2009 brings!  Here is a little collection of some of my favorite images of 2008.  Enjoy!

Family Session- Mt. Pisgah

So, when my friend Shauna asked me to do her family’s pictures, the intention was to go to the snow.  Unfortunately, we have had the driest winter, thus far.  I have always wanted to do a snow session and it always seems that Mother Nature has different plans for me.  Is this a sign?  Possibly.  Will I still do a snow session if the opportunity presents itself?  Absolutely.

Anyway,  when the day of the session finally arrived, we decided not to waste our time driving up to the mountains- what would be the point?  Instead, we opted for Mt. Pisgah.  It would seem that I have been doing a lot of sittings there lately, but it’s just so darn pretty there- no one can resist it.  🙂

To the Kief’s, thank you for asking me to do your pictures- I had a great time getting to know all of you a little better!  Happy Holidays and I hope you love your pictures!!  🙂

I think I CAN, I think I CAN!! {Giving Back!!}

So, the ever amazing Jasmine Star had a great post on her blog today- ways to get involved and give back to those less fortunate.  After checking out some of the links she included on her post, I was inspired to follow in the footsteps of Chris & Lynn, two amazing photographers out of Vancouver, BC.  So, are you ready for this?

I love to receive comments, so this is so perfect!  From the moment this post goes live until December 16th, 11:59pm, for every comment posted on my blog (to any post), the True Family will donate a canned good to Food for Lane County!  Could it be any easier?  Just post a comment and share the love!  🙂

For fun, I will be keeping track and posting occasional updates!!

So many amazing Photographers nationwide & internationally are getting in on this!  What do you have to lose?  This is the time of year to count your blessings- I am counting mine!  Let’s come together and bless others in need!

Much Love,

Jeff, Holli, Cole & Addisyn

Scott & Brittney- Engagement Session

As you can see from my earlier post, we made our way up to Seattle two weekends ago.  The main purpose of the trip was for my Engagement Session with Scott & Brittney.  🙂  Brittney and I are family.  Our Grandma’s are sisters, our dad’s are cousins, so I believe that makes her and I third cousins.  I can recall spending many days out in Crow, the tiny town our Grandma’s grew up in, riding quads, taking hikes and playing “Murder”.  🙂  (“Murder” is really “Aggravation”)

Anyway, when I saw the little Facebook post late one night that read: “I’m Engaged”- I was so excited for them!  The wall-to-wall posts began and I demanded details!  🙂  When Brittney & Scott chose Jeff and I as their Photographers, we were thrilled!  We can’t begin to express how grateful and honored we are that you chose us for your special day.

The Engagement Session was so much fun- even if we did get lost a few times.  Hehe!  It’s all just part of the bonding, right?  🙂  We can’t wait for the wedding and I hope you LOVE your pics!!

When we were finished with the shoot, we drove by a building that was completely lit up.  We had to stop- I am so glad we did because I am totally in love with this shot!!  🙂  Personal fav!!
