Congratulations, Derek!

Friday my family got to witness Derek (my cousin) graduate from high school.  Derek and his brother, Grant, have always been more like my little brothers than cousins.  In fact, when Derek was born, I always called him “My Baby” and in many ways he was.  I did EVERYTHING for him and I still would.  Needless to say it was very bittersweet for me, I am very proud of him and the man he has become, but it’s so hard to believe he is already at this stage of his life…

Congrats, Derek!  We love you and we truly are so proud of you!!!

I had to add this…

So, I just finished the editing process for Trevor’s pictures and this was the very last picture.  I love the results and I just had to add this picture because it’s now one of my favorites!  :)  Hope you enjoy it, too!

Trevor

Sunday I met up with Trevor for his Senior Session.  He was a lot of fun and totally adorable!  He showed me some great places to take pictures in Cottage Grove.  I can’t wait to go back and get some more shots downtown!  Thanks for being my tour guide!!  :)

This pose was his idea and I absolutely love it!

This one is one of my absolute favorites!

Congrats Trevor!!!  Good luck with everything to come!

Tyler’s Territory

I am a little behind getting these pictures posted.  Two weeks ago I went out to “Tyler’s Territory” for his 2nd Senior Session.  The first session was on the beach, but these pictures are sooo Tyler.  :)  We went to his uncle’s place and got some pictures with the barn.  Tyler is so much fun, I had a great time doing this session with him!

Tyler’s buddy Chad came along for the ride.  After spending some time at his uncle’s place, they lead us to a place I could never find again.  :)  They know the land quite well, I felt like I was in another country!  (Thank you GPS!)  I love that you can see the valley for miles in this picture, Oregon is so beautiful!!!

The picture below cracks me up!  They thought it would be cool to get a picture of them jumping from a stump, I thought it was hilarious!  :)  We all had a good time, it was so much fun spending a few hours with these guys!!  Congrats Tyler!!!

Derek Part 2

Since spring has been non-existent in Oregon this year, Derek and I finally decided to just do pictures, regardless of the weather.  We went out two Saturday’s ago and wouldn’t you know- it decided to snow!  (Snow in April???)  He’s my cousin, so I can torture him!  :)  We started up at Skinner’s Butte and made our way down one Downtown street- I have to say I love the results!  We were on a very tight schedule and managed to get about 100 shots in 45 minutes.  :)  The one below, I love!

Congrats, Derek!

Another favorite!  We were driving to Skiner’s Butte and saw a building with some incredible graffiti.  Love it!

My aunt wishes he wasn’t wearing this shirt.  I love the whole look.  :)

Mr. North

Where I live all the high schools in the area hold male pageants to raise money for The Children’s Miracle Network.  It is such an amazing event for such an incredible cause, it’s heart-breaking and heart-warming all at the same time!  12 guys fund-raise for 4 months and then compete in a pageant for the title of “Mr. (Mascot/School)”  My son, Cole, was asked by a friend of ours to walk with him during the Hero segment.  Cole was so excited!  This was his third time to be in one of these pageants, but the first he can remember.  :)

Tyler & Cole were dressed as Tinkerbelle & Peter Pan.  (Cole was thrilled that it meant he could hold a fake knife, which he waved at the audience the entire time with a huge grin!  :)  Sounds scary, but it was adorable!!!)

We were all very excited when Tyler was crowned Mr. North!  Cole was sitting in the crowd saying again and again, “I hope he wins…I hope Tyler wins…”  He jumped out of hit seat when they announced him the winner!

My precious little man, Cole & Tyler aka Mr. North 2008

Congratulations, Tyler!  You totally deserve it!!  :)

Jaclyn (Part 2)

I love, love, love this picture!  :)

My niece, Jaclyn, met me downtown for the second half of her session.  The weather was amazing, so we were very lucky!  :)  Jaclyn was a great sport about all the poses and locations I dragged her through- ultimately, I am very pleased with her shots!  She’s just so cute!

I had the honor of photographing my niece, Jaclyn.  Generally, I like to do these sittings outdoors, but with Oregon weather, you just never know.  :)  She was a lot of fun, up for anything and obviously a total doll!  I am looking forward to our next sitting once Spring finally arrives!
